Analog and Digitial Color

  1. What are pixels?

Pixels is the smallest addressable element in a display device. Pixels can be used through software like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

        2. How is color viewed in computer monitors?

A monitor or TV screen generates different combinations such as a RGB. These are primary colors that can create individual colors and designs.

       3. What is the additive color space?

The additive color space describes how light produces color. The additive colors are the RGB. Additive colors starts with black then continues with red, green and blue. It produces the visible range of colors. They can turn lighter.

4. Describe which additive color sliders values in InDesign you would use to make white and black.

They can create a black and white space meaning Indesign will be lighter.

       5. What is the subtractive color space?

Subtractive color space begins with white and ends with black. The result is darker. Designs use cyan, magenta and yellow inks in various percentages to control the amount of red. To produce a true black.

    6. Describe which subtractive color sliders values in InDesign you would use to make white and black.

They can create a black and white space meaning Indesign will be darker.

 7.  What is color calibration?

Color calibration is widely used in print publishing in order to display on screen an accurate representation of the colors that will be printed on paper.

8. How does the PMS (Pantone Matching System) color system ensure color fidelity?

The PMS is a standardized color matching system that ensures accuracy according to a specific type of color and is coded through a numbering system.

  9. What is analog color (analog color analogous color)?

Analog color refers to the representation and display of the colors using analog signals in television, video and color printing. Analog color use a continuous range of values for red, green, and blue to create color image.

      10. What is digital color?

Digital color is color used on computer monitors. It represents colors using discrete numerical values in the RGB.
